Europa HotelOur booking didn't appear on the Europa so they had to do it all again. The reception staff would not listen to me so that had to do the booking twice as they booked a room for three when as I tried to tell them it was two rooms. We stood at reception for an hour. It was a joke. The food quality was below expectation. A part from the chilli is was frankly poor. We had no sleep as a drunk couple next door spent the whole night screaming at each other. If the hotel employed internal security they hid. An awful night in an awful.hotel. the corridors stink the beds are cheap and nasty.

Europa HotelYou get what you pay for. Alarm bells should have rang when the price for the hotel and parking was not far off just parking. Not an enjoyable stay, we got less sleep than we would have if we’d have stayed at home! Booked for 5 people, only 4 single beds when we arrived. Too late to bother to complain so we let the two littlest top and tail. Metal framed bunk beds which squeaked with every breath!! Ended up having the youngest (7) share the single bed with me! Rooms felt dirty, I was itching in the bed! Hallways stank of smoke too. Parking is a free for all, some of the cars looked like they had been left there for years!! Thankfully the car was there when we returned from our trip and was in one piece. Next time we will pay the extra for a more enjoyable beginning to our holiday. It was a bad decision we will not repeat!

Europa HotelNo where to park- no designated bays. People parking where ever their car would fit- driving around for ages in the hope someone would have moved but no such luck. The hotel did not empathise and said sorry keep trying until people leave. Having pre booked and reserved a bay i would have expected a space upon arrival. Dangerous.

Europa HotelPlease see below copy of e-mail I sent directly to the hotel, as yet I have not had a reply !! We have used Purple Parking a few times, and found your services to be professional and the staff courteous, and have never had to worry about leaving the car. I feel that the Europa Hotel have casted your company in a bad light - which is not a true reflection of it. I would like to make a complaint regarding my recent stay with Parking at the Gatwick Europa Hotel. We arrived on the 18th June, for an overnight stay before an early flight on the 19th June. I had booked the hotel along with parking for my car, which I was to collect on the 29th June. When we arrived the Car Park was jammed packed, we drove around the site several times, cars had been abandoned on pathways, in hedges and in a muddy grass area. So we went to check in and ask if there was an overflow car park. It took us at least 20 mins to get to front of the queue to check in. There were two Receptionists on duty, who were both clearly stressed out. First impressions of the hotel was that is was noisy and had a strong smell of cigarette smoke and stale beer itwas like checking into a sports bar. When we asked where we could park our car, we were told to go outside and someone would show us a suitable parking bay. We did this but could not find anyone to ask, so queued up again to find out what we were to do with the car, as it was not parked in a suitable place. We were told to find the Manager, who did appear, he was clearly stressed out to, and said he would find us somewhere to park. My Husband went with him, and they eventually found a space for the car, although is was not in a marked bay, and not really ideal, by which time my car is now covered in mud. While I understand that cars are left at the owners risk, you as a hotel chain have a duty of care to ensure that the risks to property to kept to a minimum. We took our suitcases up to the room (2116) and this was not much better than the reception area of the hotel. We had booked a double room, but we were given a family room, which smelt of cigarette smoke, the door had a 1/4" gap to it, and there was no safety latch, and it did not feel very secure to sleep in, we put the suitcases in front of the door, as we were not sure that is was locked, which is clearly a health and safety issue. The room was dated and shabby. The whole process of getting the car parked took us nearly two hours, by this time is was around 10.30 pm and we had to be up at 1.30 to enable us to get to the airport, this defeated the point of going up to the airport the night before our flight, as we had no sleep whatsoever. I would like a refund for this stay.
