Terminal layout
Cardiff Airport is home to one main terminal, making planning your journey through the airport all the easier.
Check-in
The check-in desks are located on the ground floor opposite the main terminal entrance. As a general rule, we recommend you check in 3 hours prior to an international departure, 2 hours prior to a European departure and 90 minutes before a domestic departure. You should check this information on your ticket or with your airline.
Leisure and family facilities
Baby-changing
Baby-changing facilities are available in all toilets throughout the airport.
Pushchairs
Pushchairs can be taken through security. However, please be ready to remove your baby for a few minutes while the pushchair is put through the screening x-ray.
Play areas
Cardiff Airport has several options to keep children of all ages entertained! Two games zones with the latest video arcade machines are available in the terminal, providing an excellent facility for older children. These can be found on the first floor of the terminal building and in the departure lounge.
For younger children, a soft play area, sponsored by Smyths toys, can be found in the departure lounge. Parents need to keep an eye on them though as this area isn't staff-supervised.
For the curious child, Cardiff Airport is home to a Techniquest exhibit, located in the departure lounge. Here, you and your child can explore the science, education and fun behind Wales' infamous Techniquest science and discovery centre.
Baby milk
It is now possible to take more than the standard 100ml of baby food through security, provided that this is for the sole purpose of your journey.
Caffi Cwtch also offers baby food and baby food warming facilities on its premises which are located both before and after security.
Information desk
Cardiff Airport's information desk is located on the first floor in the pre-departure area.
Shopping
At Cardiff Airport, you can enjoy browsing tax free goods in Nuance Duty Free Shop where you will find an excellent selection of cosmetics, fragrances, accessories, confectionary, liquor and tobacco. The free Buy Now, Collect on Return service means there is no need to take your shopping away with you. This service is available for passengers travelling within the EU. You will also find two branches of WHSmith located before and after security.
Food & drink
Three lovely cafes, Café Ritazza (departure lounge) and the welsh Caffi Cwtch (with two branches - one on the first floor above the check in hall and the other in the departure lounge) are available at Cardiff Airport. Here you can grab a refuelling cup of coffee or enjoy a nice freshly-made snack. From the Echo Bar (departure lounge) you can enjoy views of the runway while enjoying a drink, snack or more hearty meal.
Caffi Cwtch and Echo Bar also offer children's menus with an activity pack.
