Terminal layout
Newcastle Airport is the 11th busiest airport in the UK as of 2016, and sees over 4.8 million passengers come and go through its doors.

At Newcastle Airport, there is one main terminal, and as of late is being extended to make things run even more efficiently.
Check-in
You'll find check-in desks on the ground floor of the terminal building. Domestic flights require you to check-in 90 minutes before departure; flights to Europe require you to check-in 2 hours before departure; international flights require you to check-in 3 hours before departure.
Leisure and family facilities
Baby changing
There are four baby changing facilities in the throughout the airport - two before security, and two after security. They are next to the toilets and are easily signed. If you need additional baby supplies, there's a Boots in the departure lounge.
Shopping
There are a variety of shops dotted throughout the airport, including: Accessorize, JD Sports, Boots, World of Duty Free, WHSmith and more. All shops are open from 4.00am to 8.00pm; World Duty Free stores are however open from first to last flight.
Food & drink
If you've worked up an appetite, there are a host of different restaurant and bars to fill you up before your flight. These include: Bar 11, The Beer House, Burger King, Cabin, Caffe Ritazza, Flying Hippo, Greggs, and more.
Getting online & staying connected
Free WiFi is available throughout the airport, and you can connect by using the network _NCLFreeWiFi. If you want faster WiFi, the premium service costs £5.00.
Special assistance
Newcastle Airport provides special assistance for passengers both inside and outside the terminal building. Passengers need to let their airline know for any special assistance requests at least 48 hours in advance. There is an Eagle Hoist available for passengers who need it; you must notify the airport at least 36 hours before you fly. If you use mobility equipment (like a scooter or electric wheelchair), you can still use these until you need to board the plane.
